Be the First to Read an Advance Copy of Lissa’s next Book, The Anatomy of a Calling

Amatomy of a calling

Are you one of those passionate mavens who feels like it’s your calling to broadcast things that touch people’s hearts, inspire them, and help them grow?

Do you have an audience of people who trust you to recommend what you love and tell the truth about what you don’t?

Are you a blogger, podcaster, journalist, television producer, or event coordinator who has the power to reach people with messages that resonate with you?

If so, we need your help as ambassadors of a message that is near and dear to my heart.

Why The Anatomy of a Calling Matters

My next book, The Anatomy of a Calling  is, in my opinion, the most needed book I’ve ever written. It’s the book I desperately wish I’d been able to read back when I first quit my job as a doctor in 2007 and felt so lost and confused, once I realized that you can quit your job, but you can’t quit your calling. At the time I felt a deep pain around knowing that my service was needed, but I didn’t know how to offer the world my gifts without depleting myself and making myself sick and miserable. I sensed that there was something calling to me . . . but I had no idea what it was. I was at the very first stage of what Joseph Campbell calls the “Hero’s Journey,” only I didn’t feel very heroic back then.

The Anatomy of a Calling is an instruction manual for those of us who are committed to finding and fulfilling their spiritual mission, as healers of the earth, as uplifters of human consciousness, as vessels of sacred activism, in service to the revolution of love that is swiftly underway. This book, which uses Campbell’s Hero’s Journey as a framework, is a road map for those who are willing to muster up the moxie to say “Yes” to the calling that beckons from deep within your heart. It’s a memoir, but it’s not your typical memoir. As my literary agent said when she read it, “Lissa, I know this is about you and your story but I didn’t think for a second that it wasn’t about me and my story.” My heart leapt when she said that. That was my intention, to use my own personal story of how I found and am fulfilling my calling as a guide for how you can find and fulfill yours.

This book is a call to action, a fire to light under us all, so that we find the courage to make the longest journey we’ll ever make—the journey from the head to the heart. When you make this journey, the mind quiets and the heart begins leading the way, giving you instructions for this poorly-understood mission you are here to fulfill as your gift back to Life Itself. It’s your raison d’être, your reason for being, and we all need you to step into it in perfect Divine timing.

These Are Extraordinary Times

Our planet is in crisis. If we don’t do something soon, the human species—and perhaps many other species of life—may perish. As individuals, we might obsess about finding the right career or meeting the love of our lives or whether or not we should sell the house or how much money we’re saving for retirement. (I understand these obsessions! I have them too!) As a country, we who are in America might get all worked up about the state of the economy or gay marriage or whether or not we’ll ever have a female president. But the truth of the matter is that all of these things pale in comparison to how we’re destroying life on our planet, and if we don’t rally together, recognize the Oneness that unites us all, and allow our hearts to guide us towards the inspired actions that will reverse the damage humanity has caused to nature and one another, we will not be able to leave our grandchildren the same beauty we have been blessed to experience on this earth.

This is what this book is really about—finding and fulfilling your calling so you can offer your unique gifts and sacred service to humanity and to nature in the way that only YOU can give.

So . . . If this resonates with you and your soul is leaping forth as you read this, I need your help. It takes a village to activate this revolution of love that will uplift us all, and my intention is that this book will help us find and activate one another.

Let Us Gift You a Free Book: How This Works

Please, if it feels yummy and aligned for you, I’d so appreciate your help getting this book into the hands of the people who are passionate about offering their sacred activism to the world!

If you have a way to spread the message of this book, we’d like to give you a free advance copy of the book so you can be an ambassador of this message. How does this work?

Step One: Email Pearl@LissaRankin.com and give her:

  1. Your mailing address if you live in the US and you’d like a print galley of the book. (Sorry but we can’t mail outside the US right now.)
  2. Your email address if you live outside of the US and have a way to help broadcast the book. (We’ll send you a PDF instead of the print version.)
  3. A detailed description of the audience you intend to reach, such as how many people are on your newsletter list, how many people follow you on social media, a description of your blog readership, how many people read the website you write for, how many people attend the conference you are hosting, or other creative ways you have to reach an audience.

Step Two: If you are selected to receive an advance copy of the book, please email Pearl and let us know when and how you intend to broadcast this message (i.e., an email to your mailing list, a review on Amazon, a post on Facebook, etc.) so we can let Rodale know how many books they’ll need to print so we don’t run out.

* If you don’t yet have a way to broadcast the book but you’re super passionate about finding and fulfilling your calling, the book comes out December 29, 2015 in the US, and you can preorder it here. (We don’t yet have information on publication dates in other countries, but Mind Over Medicine has been published in 27 languages so far and we anticipate that this one will be too, so stay tuned!)

Thank You Thank You Thank You!

This book matters so much to me. I feel a deep sense of responsibility for midwifing it into the world in the way it wants to be born, but I also feel a peaceful sense of surrender around it, as if it already has its own life in the world and my only job is to get out of its way. I’m infinitely grateful to those of you who have made it possible for me to bring this book into the world. Every one of you has contributed to helping me learn what I share in this book, and I’m so so thankful. Bless you for being part of the deep fulfillment I feel when I know I’m smack dab in the center of my purpose, doing what I was put here on this Earth to do. It is one of the most nourishing feelings I’ve ever experienced, and I yearn for you all to feel the same way.

I appreciate you. Very much. Really. Thank you.
